Getting Started

Once you’ve joined Mitcham, make sure you’re:
1. in the club whatsapp group
2. on SPOND, an app where you update your availability for matches, training and social events, as well as your emergency contact details and shirt numbers.
3. registered on GMS, the England Hockey Game Management System. If you are moving to Mitcham from another club registered on GMS, you’ll need request a transfer on GMS (Area Adult League Regulations 2025-2026, 7.7).

At the beginning of every season and whenever appropriate, please make sure your details on GMS and SPOND are up to date.

Team Kit

Teams shirts are loaned to you by the club for the duration of your membership. Please contact the club secretary if you need a new shirt, or you have a shirt but want to change sizes, etc. Please also let the club secretary know if you’ve arranged a swap with a teammate, so that she can update the records. And don’t forget to update your new shirt number on SPOND.

Other kit (hoodies, tracksuit bottoms, skorts, etc.) can be purchased personally from the VX3 website.

Keep Your Info Current

It is essential that you keep your availability up to date. If you must drop out less than a week before the match, please update SPOND and message our captain. Please also respond promptly to our captain’s call for teas on Whatsapp. For away games, we have to let the oppo team know by 8pm on Wednesday how many of us are staying for teas. (Area Adult League Regulations 2025-2026, 6.6)

Please make sure your shirt numbers are always correct on SPOND. Our captian needs the information to submit the match sheets on GMS. Thanks for your cooperation to keep things running smoothly!
